Kerr County, Texas – At least 27 people died and 27 girls from Camp Mystic are still missing due to floods along the Guadalupe River in the country of the Texas hills on July 4.
During a press conference on Saturday morning, Kerr County Sheriff, Larry Leitha, said that they died, nine are children. Six adults and a child have not been identified, he said.
Laitha did not confirm whether all deaths occurred in Kerr County. During an update on Friday night, Laitha said a person died in Kendall County. Travis County officials said Friday that two people died on sudden floods there.
The next update is expected at 2:30 PM, when Governor Greg Abbott, National Secretary of National Security Kristi Noem, Senator John Cornyn, representative Chip Roy and other state officials to celebrate the press conference, is expected.
The press conference will be broadcast live in this article. Delays are possible; If there is no live broadcast available, consult at a later time.

The administrator of the city of Kerville, Dalton Rice, said that dozens of rescuers are looking for 27 campists of the camp only for Mistic Girls, located west of Kerville in Kerr County.
As for the complete scope of missing people throughout the area, Rice said: «We do not have a precise count, and we don’t even want to start estimating at this time.»
Rice said they will not release the names of the disappeared to protect the privacy of their families.

He said that search engines have been using helicopters, ships and drones to look for victims. Most bailouts include people stranded in trees and victims of camps, which were isolated by torn roads.
«So we have many camps and everyone takes into account, but they are isolated due to road damage,» he said.
Leitha said more than 850 people have been rescued so far.
«These numbers are changing quickly,» Leitha said. «We are working hard to locate anyone who is still missing and to make sure they are safe.»
Leitha emphasized that anyone who wants to inform a missing person can call a call center at 830-258-1111 or send an email afloodrecovery@co.ker.tx.us.
«One thing that I want to tell you and make sure we don’t stop until they meet each person. We have all the resources we need. We are here in the long term,» he said.
The video captured by Ksat cameras, residents and campists showed a swollen Guadalupe river that transported rubble, cars and even houses and cabins downstream, since the area received more than 10 inches of rain.
Radar estimates show that more rural places may have received up to 13 inches of rain, according to Ksat meteorologists.
The flood event has caused comparisons with the flood of July 1987 on the Guadalupe River in comfort, which, to date, resulted in one of the worst tragedies of the country of Hill.
During a press conference on Friday, Governor Greg Abbott said: «This is a time when we, as a state, as a community, need God more than ever.»
The governor said he had a meeting with the authorities at the state and local level. He said there is a «extraordinary» level of collaboration to address everyone as quickly as possible.
At the state level, Abbott said the Texas Task Force No. 1 and Texas’s Task Force No. 2 have been deployed for rescue missions.
In addition, the Texas National Guard, the Texas Public Security Department, Texas game guards and Texas emergency management division are helping search efforts.
Also at Friday’s press conference, Abbott signed a disaster statement for the following counties: Flag, Coca -Cola, Comal, Concho, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Llano, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Reeves, San Saba and Tom Green.
Freeman Martin, from the Texas Public Security Department, said more than 100 soldiers were deployed on Friday morning to help with rescue efforts. Additional teams are expected to arrive Friday night and Saturday morning to continue operations.
Martin described the situation as a «massive victims event.»
The coordinated efforts of state and local agencies continue as officials work to relieve and support those affected by the disaster.
‘Horrible tragedy’: Trump publishes the statement
President Donald Trump said Saturday that Noem was traveling to Texas and that his administration was working with officials on the field.
«Melania and I are praying for all the families affected by this horrible tragedy,» Trump said in a statement in his social network, Truth Social.
«Our brave lifeguards are in the place doing what they do best. God bless families, and God bless Texas!»
The campers reported missing
Ksat reported Friday morning that campists of the camp only for mystic girls in Kerr County had to be evacuated when the river went up.
An email from Camp Mystic to the parents, which Ksat obtained, establishes that the parents of campists who have not been accounted for have been notified.
The email establishes that Cypress Lake and Senior Hill campers have been counted.
«If your daughter is not counted, it has been notified,» says the email. «If you have not contacted him personally, then his daughter is counted.»
The road was dragged, according to email.
Kelly said he had no information about specific camps. Parents with questions must communicate directly with their camp, he said.
«We have many camps,» Kelly said. «What I do know is that everyone is doing everything possible and trying to identify as much as possible.»
County Judge: Warning system that is not in place
At a press conference on Friday, Kerr County judge, Rob Kelly, said Kerr County does not have a warning system in the river.
When a reporter pressed why evacuations did not take place on Thursday night, Kelly said: «We didn’t know that this flood was approaching.«
«I am sure that no one knew that this type of flood approached,» he said. «We have floods all the time. This is the most dangerous river valley in the United States, and we deal with floods on a regular basis. When it rains, we get water. We had no reason to believe that this was going to be something like what happened here, none.»
The flash flood clock was issued for Kerr County at 1:45 pm on Thursday. The first flood warning was issued at 1 in the morning on Friday.
At a Friday press conference, Patrick said that Jay Hall, assistant head of the Texas Emergency Management Department, «personally contacted the judges and mayors in that area and notified them all potential floods.»
«It depends on local counties and mayors under the law to evacuate if they feel a need, but that information was transmitted,» he added.

More than 10 inches of rain
Between 10 and 12 inches of rain fell into the Kerr County area during the night, which resulted in large floods along the Guadalupe River. Click here For the last forecast.
Rain meters have registered more than 10 inches of rain in Ingram, but radar estimates suggest up to 13 inches in rural areas.
Local authorities are working with other county and state agencies to respond to bailouts.
«All county is an extremely active scene,» Sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook.
Residents are urged in the area to take refuge in their place and not travel. People who live near streams, streams and the Guadalupe River must move to a higher land.
Kcso spokesman Clint Morris told Ksat that it is «an extremely active scene, throughout the county.»
«This can be a unique flood in life,» for the county, he said, adding that they have responded to multiple calls for high water rescues. People should avoid traveling west of Ingram near the Guadalupe River.
Comparisons with the 1987 flood
On the night of July 16, 1987, on the outskirts of comfort, the children of the Christian Pot or ‘Gold camp settled for their last night of retirement, while 30 miles from the Guadalupe River, at the other end of Kerr County, the strong rains would turn what had been a somnollient river into a wall of water.
While trying to evacuate the camp, a bus transported to 43 campers never arrived. Unfortunately, 10 of those who are on the bus drowned.
At Friday’s press conference, Kelly said Friday’s flood «far exceeds the flood of 87«
