Sepsis is a potentially mortal condition caused when the body releases chemicals to combat an infection.
These chemicals damage the body’s tissues and organs and can cause shock, organic failure and death.
Organic insufficiency and death are more likely if sepsis is not recognized early and is immediately treated.
Mark’s departure from the group occurred after a series of health problems in recent years, with the singer forced to leave Westlife’s summer shows in May 2024.
