The young red star of The Sound History He received a warm welcome from the audience of the Festival for the World premiere of the new Oliver Hermanus film, in competition, in Cannes on Wednesday night.

The film was received with warm and enthusiastic applause when Mescal and the director adopted. Taking the microphone, Hermanus thanked his «brother in arms that he could not be here, Josh O’Connor», who is currently filming a movie, but «we miss him, we love him.» The director said that the project had been «one of the great creative collaborations of my short career» and thanked his star for making it come true.
